Made With Pride

Every day when the rooster crows, our cooks rise and go to work making your meals with care, pride, and professionalism.

Doing what you love . . .

The cooks who work in Running Rooster's kitchen are dedicated in that special way you can only get when you love your job.  There is something very lucky about people who are able to follow their passion and do what they are "called" to do.  Our cooks love cooking, love creating, and love getting the taste just right.  It shows in the quality of what they produce.  We think you'll notice the difference.

. . . In a place you're proud of.

Located just north of Hollister, our commercial kitchen - with its bright lights, sparkling white walls, and gleaming stainless steel - would make any professional chef proud.  We invite our customers to come see our facility and watch your dinner being prepared.  In addition to the normal convection ovens and professional stoves, we also have several pieces of specialized equipment designed to give you a top-quality dinner.  First is our custom-built wood burning rotisserie, nicknamed 'Big Red'.  We use oak logs in our rotisserie.  That's what gives our chickens their unique wood-roasted flavor.  Our barbeque pit ('Little Red') is specifically designed for authentic pit barbeque.  We burn only hickory in Little Red and our pork loin back ribs are slow cooked for 5 hours at a very closely controlled temperature to make them extra moist and tender.  Finally, we have almost 3700 cubic feet of cold storage (about the same as 185 home fridges) so your meal's freshness and safety is never compromised.

Commitment to Food Safety

Of course, Running Rooster is also very serious about sanitation and the safety of your food.  Our kitchen is kept scrupulously clean, we keep temperature logs on all of our refrigerated storage, we treat hand-washing and sanitizing with religious zeal, and we are regularly inspected by health authorities.  That's why we welcome visitors into our kitchen.  We are proud of our cleanliness and you should feel good about where your food is coming from.
