Hello folks, this is Jim (the Cook) with a Rooster News Flash.

Local Teriyaki Marinades

Some of you have noticed that we have added another locally made gourmet product line in our store:  Left Coast Trading Company's Teriyaki Sauces.  Left Coast Trading is a local family-owned business that produces and bottles their own sauces to maintain the integrity of the family recipe and the flavors that have been a favorite for all these years.

Each batch is made with the freshest and highest quality ingredients available, right here in Hollister. Left Coast supports our local growers by using the freshest local ingredients whenever possible in their marinades and sauces. Their mission is to have fun with the marinades and try out new and exciting flavors with friends and family before taking them to market. They bottle each jar by hand to insure that you get all the goodies in each jar. Goodies are the bits and pieces of fresh garlic and ginger that add that burst of flavor in your favorite recipes.

Running Rooster is carrying the Dip Dip Teriyaki and Black Gold Teriyaki sauces from Left Coast.  Currently, we have them at an introductory price of $7.50 per jar.  These sauces make an especially good marinade for your fresh fish from Papa Joe.

Don't forget that we also carry B&R Farms apricots and sauces as well as Pietra Santa olive oils, and we'll keep looking for more wonderful locally made foods.

Here's our menu for this week.  If you have any questions or wish to reserve something, please call the store at 831-634-0135.  To see a description of any of these items, go to our online menu.

Lunch Soup:  Soups this week are going to be Split Pea (Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday) and Grandma's Chicken Noodle new! (Thursday & Friday).

Note:  All menu items may be subject to substitution or selling out, depending upon our suppliers, our customers' appetites, and the whims of Jim (The Cook).

NEW:  Tortellini Alfredo

For people who love a simple yet rich and delicious pasta dish, Tortellini Alfredo is an excellent choice.  Using chicken and turkey tortellini instead of simple fettuccine noodles makes this dish a satisfying main course winner.  We also modify the standard recipe slightly so that the finished meal comes out less greasy and more creamy, but we still use plenty of freshly grated imported Parmigiano-Reggiano for that perfect classic flavor.  We hope you like it.

For the Kiddies:  Cheese Curlies

We've gotten an increasing number of requests for some kind of simple pasta dish that parents can get for the kids when the kids may not like what mom or dad are choosing for themselves.  So we thought, what better than mac and cheese?  We make our version very mild to please young palettes, and use curly fusilli noodles for a little extra fun.  Starting Monday, we will always have Cheese Curlies available as a side dish.

Any Rib Problems?

We received one complaint from a customer that their ribs weren't up to par (drier than usual).  We're not sure if it was just that one rack or a problem with the batch.  If you got some ribs from us that you felt weren't what they should have been, please let us know so we can make it right.  100% customer satisfaction is really important to us.  -Thanks.
