March 27th, 2006   (See below for a discount on every order!)

Hello folks, this is Jim (the Cook) with a Rooster News Flash.

Business Of The Month

I and the rest of the Running Rooster team felt honored a couple weeks ago to be named San Benito County's Business of the Month by the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce.  Apparently folks have been pleased not only with our business practices and customer service, but with our support, modest as it is, for local schools and non-profit groups.

We thank everyone at the Chamber for their support and recognition, and we are happy to be counted among the ranks of past winners, all of them wonderful businesses here in our community.

Here's our menu for this week.  If you have any questions or wish to reserve something, please call the store at 831-634-0135.  To see a description of any of these items, go to our online menu.

Lunch Soup:  Soups this week are going to be Chicken Noodle (Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday) and Lentil (Thursday & Friday).

Note:  All menu items may be subject to substitution or selling out, depending upon our suppliers, our customers' appetites, and the whims of Jim (The Cook).

Soups in Larger Containers

If enough people ask, even I can learn to listen to them.  We've gotten lots of requests for our soups to be sold in larger quantities as part of the dinner menu, so that's what we're doing.  We will make larger quantities of the lunch soups (Chicken Noodle and Vegetarian Lentil this week, for instance) and package them in larger containers (24 ounces) for people to buy at dinner time.  Oh, and we've lowered the price!  Can't beat that with a stick.
    $9.99 - 24 ozs.

Picasso Pizza is Back This Friday

Roughly once a month (the last Friday of the month) we are bringing back our Picasso Pizzas especially for those people who miss them so.  There aren't many of you, but you are loyal, bless your hearts.  Besides, if I don't make pizza at least once in a while, my own kids start to whine and grumble about it, so it's a win-win as I see it.  Limited quantities, so you may want to call ahead.

Thanks For Your Feedback

A great big thanks to all of you who answer our occasional poll questions here in the newsletter.  Nothing helps us run our business more than good feedback from our customers.  Last week, we asked you about portion sizes, and many of you responded that you liked them just as they are, don't go messing with them, thank you very much.  OK, we won't.  We'll have more of those kind of "how can we improve" polls in the future, but if you ever want to make a request or a rant or just a comment, always feel free to drop me a line.

Weekly Subscriber Discount

In honor of April Fool's Day coming up this Saturday and because my recent birthday has me feeling a little older, this week's discount phrase is "There's no fool like an old fool."  Describes me perfectly (sometimes).   Remember to use this phrase for a quick 10% discount on every order throughout this week at Running Rooster.
